Sri Lanka ! the Island people..originated from Eastern and Southern part of India. The natives are as much as part of Indian culture as our masalas but most Sinhalis do not like to be considered Indians nor they like Indian people, yet they watch Indian movies, eat Indian foods, wear our culture in daily life.
Some Sinhalis consider themselves a bit different and a bit superior.
The reason is that most SriLankans do not know much about India except the gaudy
and violent movies of India which definitely project a very poor image of India.
The insular people of Sri Lanka despite their smaller size of nation; have their ego the
size of Australia.
They have not been very friendly with Tamil minority nor Tamils in Sri Lanka have been any tolerant.
An ideologist called Prabhakaran is a very devil minded Tamil, who sits hidden in the lush bushes of lower part of peninsula and keep arming teenage Tamils. Sri Lankans have outgrown their cool Budhist traditions and believe in killing the protesting Tamils. We wish our friends in that country to find solutions as they have to co-exist like so many other communities and cultures have co-existed in Indian sub-continent since milleniums.
We embrace all Sri Lankan of any religion, any creed as our brothers an sisters. We love them as much as we love ourselves (that sounds quite sad as we dont seem to love each other either recently) but i said that in positive sense ofcourse..!
